Veins Full of Static released Contours on This Is It Forever records in September 2021. As it was the first full length he'd released outside of Disintegration State he thought it might be fun to let some DS alumni pull the tracks apart and put them back together again in their own image. The results are wild - Sunbane/hardwareghost attacked Some Other Time with both his alter egos, turning into both a gnarled industrial hellscape and a galloping almost Iron Maiden esque romp. Steve Hadfield made the sombre drones of She Held Onto.. feel right at home in his lithe, energetic IDM rhythms. Adventsong used some manner of alchemy to transform No Reckoning from a sad dirge into a synthwave bop. The Gibraltarians kept the elegiac Show Me the Light intact but elevated it with some beautifully melancholic guitar, whereas Body in the Thames took the 'Disintegrating' part of the project to its logical conclusion, turning Always the Hours into a The Cure influenced funereal jam.
